We're a close knit team with partners based in the UK and US. Our unique geographic makeup has enabled us to successfully expand a number of our portfolio companies on both sides of the Atlantic. We source opportunities in both the UK and US.
Michael Burt
Managing Partner
Michael founded Promethean in 2005. Since 2014 Michael has lived in the U.S. and is based in Norfolk, Virginia. Prior to founding Promethean Michael was Head of Private Equity at Collins Stewart. Prior to Collins Stewart he was an Investment Director at Ellerman Investments a prominent UK family office. During this period, he was part of a team of four investment professionals responsible for managing a portfolio of 12 private companies with a total enterprise value of over £2 billion. Michael started his career at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, first in their acquisition finance business then latterly in the private equity group.
Michael currently serves as Non-Executive Director on several portfolio company boards and was founder investor in Cambria Automobiles, January Loan Services, Accepty Technologies Limited, Motherclub Limited and Financewell limited.
Angus Burt
Partner
Angus joined Promethean in 2013. Angus lives in Edinburgh and splits his time between Edinburgh & London. Angus joined Promethean Investments LLP as an Analyst, before becoming a Partner in December 2015. Responsibilities include origination, assessment of opportunities, valuation, due diligence, structuring and portfolio management. Post acquisition Angus works with management to implement value creation strategies, monitor KPIs and takes Observer and Director roles on portfolio company boards. Prior to joining Promethean, Angus worked in Investment Banking as a small cap equity analyst for Fairfax IS plc. Before his career in Investment Banking Angus founded an online platform for individuals and families to store and monitor their vaccination and immunisation records. Currently Angus serves as a Non-Executive Director of DSG Financial Services Limited, Produce Investments, and is an Observer on the board of Sofa Brands International, Puttshack Limited and Social Entertainment Ventures.
Archie Bound
Partner
Archie joined Promethean in 2015 becoming a Partner in Q1 2022. Archie is based in Promethean’s Edinburgh office and leads Promethean’s business development function.
Since 2018 Archie has worked on all Promethean’s investments in the Location Based Entertainment market including Puttshack, State of Play Hospitality and Motherclub
His day-to-day responsibilities involve sourcing investment opportunities and monitoring performance of investments post acquisition.
Archie graduated from Northumbria University in 2015.
